Cadillac CTS Wins Praise for Design and Technology
November 2007 (Medialink) - One of the world's premiere automotive authorities,
the editors at Motor Trend, just announced the 2008 Motor Trend Car of the Year.
The honor highlights the widely acclaimed 2008 Cadillac CTS sport sedan. Since
its launch earlier this fall, CTS sales have jumped 75% in the month of October.
Each year the editorial staff evaluates eligible vehicles for its "Car of the
Year" based on three key categories: Significance, Superiority, and Value.
Significance refers to innovation in engineering, technology, design, safety and
packaging. Superiority levels the playing field and looks for class-leading
levels of vehicle dynamics and performance, build quality and execution, and how
well the vehicle performs its intended function. Finally, the all-important
Value questions what the vehicle delivers in relation to what the consumer has
to pay to purchase and own it.
The full report appears in the January issue of the magazine and online at
www.motortrend.com.
Cadillac was the first automaker ever to win the award, earning the famed
"golden calipers" in the magazine's inaugural year of 1949, and again in 1952
and 1992.
